PSI appointment changes
How do you cancel or reschedule the Illinois real estate exam?
Make the change early. PSI must receive your cancellation notice two days before the scheduled examination date if you want to protect the fee. Use the Illinois program website or speak with customer service by phone. A voicemail does not count.
What is the cancellation rule?
Short answer: Cancel through the PSI Illinois website or call (855) 340-3893 and speak to a representative. PSI must receive the notice two days before the scheduled examination date. A late cancellation, missed appointment, late arrival, or improper ID forfeits the fee.

Two days means PSI's stated calendar rule
The booklet's example says a Monday appointment must be canceled by the previous Saturday. Do not wait for a personal 48-hour calculation, a closing-time guess, or the final minute of the online cutoff.
How do you reschedule online?
- Sign in to the PSI Illinois Real Estate Examination Program.
- Open the booked examination in your account.
- Choose the available cancellation or rescheduling control.
- Select the correct examination, delivery method, date, and time.
- Review the time zone and test-center address or remote details.
- Complete the change instead of leaving it in a draft state.
- Save the updated confirmation and verify it in My Tests.
If the website does not show a completed change, do not assume the click counted. Contact PSI while the deadline is still open.
How do you reschedule by phone?
Call PSI at (855) 340-3893 and speak to a customer service representative. The current booklet lists telephone scheduling hours in Central Time, but hours can change, so call well before the deadline rather than depending on a final evening or weekend window.
Have these details ready:
- Your PSI account and candidate information.
- The exact Illinois examination name.
- The current appointment date, time, and delivery method.
- The new dates or locations you can accept.
- A way to record the representative and confirmation details.
Why does voicemail not protect the fee?
PSI expressly says a voicemail message is not an acceptable form of cancellation. A message does not prove that an authorized representative completed the change before the cutoff.
If the line does not connect, use the PSI website. If the website fails, keep the error details and continue trying official support before the deadline. Do not stop at an unanswered call.
Does timely cancellation produce a refund?
No refund is promised. PSI says examination fees are nonrefundable and nontransferable. A timely cancellation and reschedule preserves the paid fee for a changed appointment under the program rule.

Which events forfeit the fee?
The current booklet identifies four direct appointment failures:
- Not canceling two days before the scheduled examination date.
- Not appearing for the appointment.
- Arriving after the examination start time.
- Not presenting proper identification.
A remote candidate also risks the fee or eligibility by failing to start within the launch timing stated by PSI. The booklet says the launch is available within 30 minutes of the booked time and warns that not starting within 15 minutes after the booked time can forfeit the fee or eligibility. Follow the exact appointment clock.

What if the remote system fails before exam day?
Do not wait. Run the public diagnostics and the booked-exam tutorial on the exact computer, network, camera, microphone, and room. If the setup remains unreliable, reschedule or change to a test center before the cutoff.
The booklet lists PSI technical support at (844) 267-1017 for compatibility or launch issues. A technical problem does not automatically erase the cancellation deadline or guarantee a free replacement.
Follow the Illinois PSI remote system checklist while time remains to fix or change the booking.
What if PSI closes the test center?
When severe weather or another emergency forces a test-center closure, PSI says the examination will be rescheduled. PSI personnel will attempt to contact candidates and make every effort to arrange a convenient replacement time.
Check the PSI Illinois program page or call (855) 340-3893 for status. Do not travel into unsafe conditions merely because an automated confirmation has not yet changed.
A safe rescheduling sequence
- Decide earlier than the required two-day boundary.
- Use the PSI website first when the account controls are available.
- Call and speak to a representative if online changes fail.
- Never treat voicemail as completed notice.
- Save the cancellation or revised appointment confirmation.
- Check My Tests for the new date, time, and delivery method.
- Rerun remote checks or map the new test-center route.
- Update the study plan to the actual replacement date.
What should the new confirmation show?
- Your correct first and last name.
- The Illinois Real Estate Broker examination.
- The new date, start time, and time zone.
- Test-center address or remote delivery.
- The applicable arrival or launch instructions.
- The current cancellation deadline.
- Any approved accommodation connection.
Read the replacement confirmation as carefully as the original. Changing from test center to remote also changes calculator, scratch-paper, break, room, and technology rules.

Illinois PSI cancellation FAQ
Can you reschedule the Illinois real estate exam?
Yes. PSI says you may cancel and reschedule without forfeiting the examination fee when the cancellation notice is received two days before the scheduled examination date. Use the PSI Illinois program website or call and speak with a customer service representative.
How much notice does PSI require to reschedule?
The current booklet says PSI must receive the cancellation notice two days before the scheduled examination date. Its example says a Monday appointment must be canceled by the previous Saturday.
Is the PSI deadline exactly 48 hours?
Do not replace PSI's calendar-day wording with your own 48-hour calculation. The booklet says two days before the scheduled examination date and gives Saturday as the cutoff for a Monday appointment. Change the booking earlier whenever possible.
How do you cancel or reschedule?
Use the PSI Illinois Real Estate Examination Program website or call PSI at (855) 340-3893 and speak to a customer service representative. Keep the completed change confirmation.
Can you cancel by voicemail?
No. PSI expressly says a voicemail message is not an acceptable cancellation. Use the website or speak directly with a customer service representative by phone.
Do you get a refund when you cancel?
PSI states that examination fees are nonrefundable and nontransferable. A timely cancellation or reschedule protects the fee for a changed appointment; it does not promise a cash refund.
What happens if you cancel too late?
The registration becomes invalid for that appointment, you cannot test as scheduled, and you forfeit the examination fee. A new paid booking may be required.
What happens if you miss the exam or arrive late?
Failing to appear or arriving after the examination start time invalidates the registration and forfeits the fee under the current booklet.
What if you have the wrong ID?
If you do not present proper identification, you cannot test and forfeit the fee. Check the photo, signature, expiration, and exact first-and-last-name match before the cancellation deadline.
What if PSI closes the test center for an emergency?
When severe weather or another emergency forces a test-center closure, PSI says the examination will be rescheduled and personnel will attempt to contact candidates. Check the PSI program page or call the official scheduling number for status.
