Which appointment problem occurred?
The PSI Illinois booklet dated June 24, 2026 states the consequences below. 225 ILCS 454/5-35(a) also provides for fee forfeiture when a candidate fails to appear at the acknowledged examination's scheduled place and time.

The Illinois program FAQ requires test-center arrival at least 30 minutes before the scheduled exam. Plan to reach check-in, rather than the parking lot, by then. If late, follow the site's staff instructions and ask PSI about the record afterward.
For a future conflict, the Illinois booklet requires cancellation notice to be received two days before the exam date, with Monday and the preceding Saturday as its example. Voicemail is not an accepted cancellation method. Use the cancellation guide for the deadline and confirmation checks. The generic program FAQ uses typical two-business-day wording and directs readers to the bulletin; the Illinois booklet supplies the Monday/Saturday example. Confirm the exact Illinois cancellation cutoff with PSI before relying on a change. Do not assume a last-minute request preserved the fee.
Remote launch trouble needs an immediate support record
The booklet describes a launch control available within 30 minutes of the booked time and warns of forfeiture when testing has not started within 15 minutes after that time. Follow the appointment's clock, time zone and current launch instructions. These statements do not create permission to wait until the last minute.
For compatibility or launch trouble, the Illinois booklet lists (844) 267-1017. Use an authorized help route promptly. During secure check-in or testing, follow PSI or proctor instructions for assistance rather than opening another app, moving rooms or using a phone on your own.
Keep the error description, time and support reference using permitted means. Do not photograph or reproduce secure examination content. Opening a ticket does not itself establish a refund, restored eligibility or extra start time.
Before another remote booking, use PSI's current system requirements and the method assigned in your confirmation. A camera/network check is not the full Secure Browser tutorial. Ask PSI for decisions you can use
The booklet lists (855) 340-3893 for scheduling assistance. The official Illinois PSI contact page also provides its customer-service form. Use the appropriate official channel for personal booking information.

A concise request can say: “I could not take my booked Illinois broker exam. Please confirm the appointment outcome, whether this event changed my attempt count, the exam or portion I may schedule next, and whether a new fee is required.” Ask for the recorded attempt count before and after this event, not only a general statement about fees. Add the actual facts rather than guessing at a reason code.
If seeking review of an illness, technical problem or other incident, ask what documentation is needed and retain the response. The material inspected does not establish an automatic hardship exception. Follow the decision PSI gives for the individual appointment.
Confirm attempt treatment before paying again
The law describes a reset after four consecutive examination failures, and PSI describes category-specific attempts. Neither that reset nor the missed-appointment fee rule clearly resolves every no-show, ID rejection or launch failure's treatment in the candidate counter. This guide cannot certify that a missed event always counts or never counts.
Ask PSI to confirm the attempt record, candidate category, remaining education eligibility and required next selection. Standard, endorsement and education-exempt routes differ. Use the retake guide after that record is clear, and the education-validity guide if the course deadline is close.
Example: a missed check-in is not an attempt-count answer
A test-center appointment is at 3:00 p.m. The 30-minute arrival plan puts check-in at 2:30 p.m. Sam reaches the desk at 3:04 p.m. The published late-arrival consequence applies; this example does not decide what PSI enters in Sam's attempt record.
Change the facts: PSI announces an emergency closure before the appointment. That calls for the official rescheduling process. Sam should retain the notice and confirm the replacement arrangement, rather than treating the closure as an ordinary personal no-show.
Before choosing another date, repair the cause you can control: verify the actual site and entrance, resolve the ID issue, or complete the assigned remote preparation. Use the ID guide for document questions. A replacement appointment should be confirmed in the official account, with its date, time and format checked. Keep that confirmation separate from the incident decision: a support acknowledgment is not a new examination date.
Late and missed Illinois exam questions
Is there a grace period if I reach the test center late?
Do not rely on one. The Illinois booklet lists arrival after the examination start as a forfeiture event, and the program FAQ requires arrival at least 30 minutes early. Follow staff instructions if you arrive late; this guide cannot grant admission.
Does a missed appointment use one of my four attempts?
The published material inspected does not clearly settle that counting question for every missed event. Fee forfeiture is stated; the personal attempt record needs PSI confirmation. Ask how the event was recorded, how many attempts remain and which exam or portion you may book next.
Will traffic, illness or an ID problem get my fee back?
No automatic exception is established here. The booklet lists no-show, late-arrival and improper-ID consequences. Explain your circumstances to PSI and ask whether review or documentation is available. A request, medical note or support ticket should not be treated as an approved waiver.
Does contacting technical support extend my remote start deadline?
No extension is promised in the sources inspected. Contact support promptly through an authorized route and retain the incident reference. Ask PSI to confirm the resulting appointment status, fee or eligibility decision and rebooking instructions.
What if PSI closes the examination site?
An official emergency closure is different from a personal no-show. The Illinois booklet says the exam will be rescheduled and PSI will try to contact candidates. Check the official program or scheduling service for your appointment; no exact replacement date is promised here.
Can I fix the ID problem by arriving earlier?
Extra time does not make an unacceptable ID acceptable. Check the current ID requirements before the change deadline, including the scheduled-name match and the remote military-ID exclusion. Ask PSI about an uncertain document before exam day.
