Build a Dixon route plan
PSI's June 24, 2026 bulletin lists Sauk Valley Community College at 173 IL Route 2, Dixon. Check the booking confirmation and a current official campus map for the testing area, visitor entrance, parking, and accessibility route. The college property sits outside a simple downtown grid, so do not rely on a city-center search.
Candidates may reach the area by Route 2, Illinois 26, I-88, or rural connecting roads. Weather, darkness, farm traffic, and construction can affect the regional segment. Plan the campus arrival as a second segment and keep the 30-minute PSI check-in buffer intact.
- Use the full 173 IL Route 2 address rather than a general Dixon destination.
- Check official campus maps and visitor parking before the appointment.
- Review rural road, I-88, and weather conditions that affect the chosen route.
- Identify a staffed college entrance to use if room signage is unclear.
Candidates may also compare dates from nearby areas such as Sterling, Rock Falls, Rochelle, DeKalb, Rockford. The closest city is not always the earliest or calmest appointment.
Use three arrival times
Leave time
Route estimate plus weather, work-zone, traffic, parking, and building buffer.
Property time
Time to park or exit a ride, locate the entrance, and reach the correct room or suite.
PSI arrival time
Be at the examination site 30 minutes before the booked start.
Late arrival can invalidate the appointment and forfeit the fee. A driver, friend, child, instructor, or other companion may not wait in the test center, building, or property under the current bulletin.
What to bring and what to leave
Bring one current, valid, unexpired government identification accepted by PSI. It must show a photo and signature, and the name must exactly match the scheduled name. The bulletin allows a physical calculator at a test center, and PSI provides scratch paper and a pencil that must be returned.
Leave reference material, phones, smart watches, earbuds, bags, personal paper, writing tools, food, drinks, and other prohibited items at home or follow the proctor's storage instruction. PSI is not responsible for belongings.
If Dixon is not the best appointment
Return to the live search and compare another Illinois city, an available PSI center elsewhere in the United States, or remote proctoring. For remote delivery, confirm that the exact computer passes audio, video, webcam, and system checks. Remote candidates cannot use scratch paper or a physical calculator and cannot take a break.
