Build a Chicago route plan
PSI's June 24, 2026 bulletin lists PSI Chicago at 332 S. Michigan Avenue. A downtown address can require building security, lobby check-in, elevator travel, and locating the PSI suite. The booking confirmation must supply the current floor, suite, entrance, and any access instruction that the bulletin does not show.
Compare current CTA, Metra, walking, ride-service, and driving options for the appointment time. For transit, include transfer and service-gap time. For driving, reserve and price parking only after confirming the final address, then add time from the garage to the lobby. Downtown event, construction, and street-closure conditions can change an otherwise familiar route.
- Read the appointment email for floor, suite, lobby, and building-security instructions.
- Check live CTA or Metra schedules and the full walking route if using transit.
- If driving, verify garage hours, height limits, payment, and walking distance directly.
- Review downtown events, street closures, weather, and construction the day before.
Candidates may also compare dates from nearby areas such as Oak Park, Cicero, Evanston, Hyde Park, Near North Side. The closest city is not always the earliest or calmest appointment.
Use three arrival times
Leave time
Route estimate plus weather, work-zone, traffic, parking, and building buffer.
Property time
Time to park or exit a ride, locate the entrance, and reach the correct room or suite.
PSI arrival time
Be at the examination site 30 minutes before the booked start.
Late arrival can invalidate the appointment and forfeit the fee. A driver, friend, child, instructor, or other companion may not wait in the test center, building, or property under the current bulletin.
What to bring and what to leave
Bring one current, valid, unexpired government identification accepted by PSI. It must show a photo and signature, and the name must exactly match the scheduled name. The bulletin allows a physical calculator at a test center, and PSI provides scratch paper and a pencil that must be returned.
Leave reference material, phones, smart watches, earbuds, bags, personal paper, writing tools, food, drinks, and other prohibited items at home or follow the proctor's storage instruction. PSI is not responsible for belongings.
If Chicago is not the best appointment
Return to the live search and compare another Illinois city, an available PSI center elsewhere in the United States, or remote proctoring. For remote delivery, confirm that the exact computer passes audio, video, webcam, and system checks. Remote candidates cannot use scratch paper or a physical calculator and cannot take a break.
