Illinois real estate remote exam checklist: test the whole setup

Page 1 is the cover. Page 2 helps you choose the format and record your appointment. Page 3 checks software, equipment and ID. Page 4 covers the room, launch, conduct, technical-problem response and a final setup check.

Before booking, decide whether the no-break and no-paper conditions are workable. Resolve installation, accessibility and network needs early. If the format does not fit, compare test-center availability. To preserve the fee, PSI must receive cancellation or rescheduling notice 2 days before the date; its Monday example requires notice on Saturday. Voicemail does not count. Save the change confirmation.

PSI's current system-requirements page describes a downloaded Secure Browser and a Chrome Extension. Your confirmation tells you which to use. The existence of both options does not establish that your Illinois appointment allows either one.

Check the current supported device, operating-system version, memory, permissions, network and display requirements for that route. Work or school computers may prevent installation. Run audio/video and webcam checks on the exact computer and connection you intend to use. A camera-and-bandwidth check does not test RAM or software installation.

Use one accepted, valid, unexpired ID with a photo, signature and exact scheduled-name match. The booklet lists state driver licenses and IDs, temporary state driver licenses and IDs, US passports, US alien registration cards, foreign passports and foreign government IDs. All document conditions still apply. US military ID is not accepted remotely. Resolve a mismatch with PSI before the appointment.

Keep the room private, quiet and well lit. Follow scan and inspection instructions. Clear notes, paper, writing tools, phones, watches, earbuds, food, drinks and other prohibited items from reach and view as directed. No other person should enter during testing. Check the current clothing and headwear rules, including the religious-apparel allowance.

Check the account, launch route and time zone in advance. The booklet says launch is available within 30 minutes of the booked time. Not starting within 15 minutes after that time forfeits the fee or eligibility. Follow your specific confirmation instructions.

Stay in camera view on the same computer and in the same space. Follow directions about hands, eyes, face and desk. Do not talk, whisper, mouth words, read aloud, cover your mouth, open unapproved apps, communicate or capture exam content. Remote breaks, scratch paper and physical calculators are prohibited.

The exact Illinois remote calculator functions, whiteboard and keyboard shortcuts remain unconfirmed. Ask PSI about any tool you depend on before choosing a format. A generic tutorial is not confirmation of your appointment tools.

Follow the proctor and official support route. PSI technical support is (844) 267-1017. Record the time, error, instructions and case number without recording questions. Do not improvise by changing computers or rooms or opening another app. Reporting a problem does not automatically restore the fee or eligibility.

For the final check, have your accepted ID ready, confirm power and internet, test camera and microphone, set the lighting, clear the room, and verify the correct account and launch path. The checklist does not apply the test-center arrival rule to a remote booking.
