Illinois PSI exam results

When do Illinois real estate exam results arrive?

You do not wait days for the first answer. PSI displays the score onscreen at the end of the examination and emails a score report. A failed report includes diagnostic strengths and weaknesses by examination type. A passing report provides licensing instructions. Printable reports are also available from the Manage tab in your PSI account.

When do you get the result?

Short answer:The score appears when the exam ends. The durable report follows by email and is available to print from the PSI account. Read the displayed result, finish the delivery format's checkout, then save the report.

Immediate result does not mean instant license

Passing both portions completes the examination requirement. It does not issue the Illinois broker license or authorize licensed activity.

What happens at a PSI test center?

  1. Submit the examination through the computer interface.
  2. Read the result displayed onscreen.
  3. Return PSI's scratch paper and pencil.
  4. Complete the administrator's checkout directions.
  5. Check email and the PSI account for the report.

Do not leave exam notes on the scratch paper or attempt to remove it. The score record is delivered through PSI, not through candidate notes.

The complete PSI test-center walkthrough explains arrival through checkout.

What happens after a remote examination?

  1. Submit answers in the examination interface.
  2. Read the displayed result and instructions.
  3. Use the control to end the proctoring session.
  4. Confirm the permanent end action.
  5. Fully close the proctoring application.
  6. Only then leave camera view or retrieve another device.

PSI says the remote session is recorded through completion and application close. Do not create a security concern by walking away as soon as a score appears.

Use the Illinois remote proctoring walkthrough for the exact closeout sequence.

How quickly should the email arrive?

The current candidate booklet says PSI emails a score report. It does not publish a guaranteed delivery window in minutes or hours. Avoid promises such as “within 10 minutes” that the Illinois program source does not make.

If the email is not visible:

  1. Confirm the email address in the PSI account.
  2. Check spam, junk, promotions, and filtered folders.
  3. Search for messages from PSI around the appointment date.
  4. Open the account and inspect the Manage tab.
  5. Contact PSI if the report remains unavailable.

PSI scores national and Illinois separately. Do not average them. National requires 70% raw, and Illinois requires 75%.

The Illinois exam scoring guide explains scored points, experimental items, and the former scaled score of 75.

What is in a failed result?

PSI says the emailed report includes diagnostic information that indicates strengths and weaknesses by examination type. It also provides reapplication instructions.

Relearn the governing concept behind each weak category and test it with fresh questions. Remembered live wording is not a reliable retake plan.

What happens after one portion passes?

PSI says you repeat only the portion or portions failed. Keep the passing report and choose only the failed portion when the portal matches the reapplication instructions.

Standard candidates receive up to four attempts to pass. The eligibility and fourth-failure reset rules can still affect the saved portion, so review them before paying.

See the focused one-portion retake guide.

What happens after both portions pass?

PSI says the report provides instructions for applying through the IDFPR Online Services Portal. The candidate must follow those instructions and provide required documentation.

What if the result copies conflict?

Preserve every version before contacting PSI: the emailed report, the Manage-tab copy, the appointment confirmation, and a written note of what appeared onscreen. Do not edit a report or rely only on memory.

  1. Compare name, exam, date, and portion outcomes.
  2. Note the exact field that differs.
  3. Contact PSI through the current Illinois program route.
  4. Keep the case number and written resolution.
  5. Do not rebook or apply on an assumption if the difference is material.

Can you see the exact missed questions?

The public booklet promises diagnostic strengths and weaknesses, not a copy of scored questions, an answer key, or an item-by-item review after the exam.

During testing, PSI provides a Comments link for a substantive concern. Examination-development staff review comments, but PSI does not respond to candidates individually. The booklet calls this the only review of examination materials available to candidates.

How should you store the result?

  • Download or print the Manage-tab report.
  • Keep the original PSI email.
  • Store a private backup separate from the primary device.
  • Keep education and application records with the result.
  • Redact personal details before any public or informal sharing.

A passing report supports the licensing workflow. A failed report supports the retake workflow. Both deserve reliable recordkeeping.

Illinois exam results FAQ

Do you get Illinois real estate exam results immediately?

Yes. PSI says your score is displayed onscreen at the end of the examination. PSI also emails a score report, and reports can be printed from the Manage tab in your account.

Are remote exam results also shown at the end?

The Illinois booklet says the score is displayed onscreen at the end of the examination. Remote candidates should submit, end the proctoring session, and fully close the application according to the platform instructions before leaving camera view.

How long does the emailed score report take?

The current Illinois booklet says the report is emailed but does not promise a specific number of minutes. Check the account email, spam folder, and Manage tab before contacting PSI if it does not appear.

Where can you print an Illinois exam score report?

PSI says score reports can be printed from the online account under the Manage tab. Save a private PDF and a backup copy.

What happens if you pass both portions?

The score report gives instructions for applying for a license through the IDFPR Online Services Portal. Passing is not the license itself, and the application must be made within one year of passing.

What happens if you fail one portion?

The emailed report includes diagnostic information and reapplication instructions. PSI says you repeat only the failed portion, subject to attempt and eligibility rules.

What happens if you fail both portions?

Both portions remain unpassed. Read the national and Illinois diagnostics separately, track the attempt count, repair the weak categories, and follow PSI's reapplication instructions.

What if the onscreen score and emailed report seem different?

Preserve the emailed report and the Manage-tab copy, note what appeared onscreen, and contact PSI through the current Illinois program support route. Do not alter the report or assume which record controls without confirmation.

Can PSI tell you which exact questions you missed?

The booklet promises failed diagnostic strengths and weaknesses by examination type, not a live-question list or answer key. PSI provides a Comments link during the exam for substantive item concerns but does not respond individually.

Should you share a score report with a school or broker?

Share it only when necessary and through a secure method. Redact personal, candidate, and account information from any public or informal copy, while preserving the original privately.
