When do you get the result?
Short answer: The score appears when the exam ends. The durable report follows by email and is available to print from the PSI account. Read the displayed result, finish the delivery format's checkout, then save the report.

Passing both portions completes the examination requirement. It does not issue the Illinois broker license or authorize licensed activity.
What happens at a PSI test center?
- Submit the examination through the computer interface.

- Check email and the PSI account for the report.

What happens after a remote examination?
- Submit answers in the examination interface.
- Read the displayed result and instructions.
- Complete the platform's end-of-session instructions.
- Fully close the proctoring application as directed.
- Only then leave camera view or retrieve another device.
PSI says the remote session is recorded through completion and application close. Do not create a security concern by walking away as soon as a score appears.

How quickly should the email arrive?
The current candidate booklet says PSI emails a score report. It does not publish a guaranteed delivery window in minutes or hours. Avoid promises such as “within 10 minutes” that the Illinois program source does not make.
If the email is not visible:
- Confirm the email address in the PSI account.
- Check spam, junk, promotions, and filtered folders.
- Search for messages from PSI around the appointment date.
- Open the account and inspect the Manage tab.
- Contact PSI if the report remains unavailable.
What does each possible outcome mean?

PSI scores national and Illinois separately. Do not average them. National requires 70% raw, and Illinois requires 75%.
The one-portion retake rows describe ordinary failed-portion instructions while eligibility remains valid. The standard broker fourth-failure reset can require education and the whole exam again; check your route before booking.

What is in a failed result?
PSI says the emailed report includes diagnostic information that indicates strengths and weaknesses by examination type. It also provides reapplication instructions.

Relearn the governing concept behind each weak category and test it with fresh questions. Remembered live wording is not a reliable retake plan.
What happens after one portion passes?
PSI says you repeat only the portion or portions failed. Keep the passing report and choose only the failed portion when the portal matches the reapplication instructions.
Standard candidates receive up to four attempts to pass. The eligibility and fourth-failure reset rules can still affect the saved portion, so review them before paying.

What happens after both portions pass?
PSI says the report provides instructions for applying through the IDFPR Online Services Portal. The candidate must follow those instructions and provide required documentation.

What if the result copies conflict?
Preserve every version before contacting PSI: the emailed report, the Manage-tab copy, the appointment confirmation, and a written note of what appeared onscreen. Do not edit a report or rely only on memory.
- Compare name, exam, date, and portion outcomes.
- Note the exact field that differs.
- Contact PSI through the current Illinois program route.
- Keep the case number and written resolution.
- Do not rebook or apply on an assumption if the difference is material.
Can you challenge a question or see the answers you missed?
Use the in-exam Comments link for a question-content concern. The Illinois booklet describes this link on the function bar of the test question screen. A concern about wording or a missing fact belongs in that provided channel while you are taking the exam.
- Use Comments on the relevant question screen, following the interface instructions.
- Describe the concern briefly in that field. Do not expect the proctor to explain which answer to choose.
- Continue through the exam as instructed. Do not copy or photograph the question for later discussion.
PSI's examination-development staff review substantive comments but do not send individual replies. The booklet identifies this as the review of examination materials available to candidates. It does not offer a post-exam answer key, inspection of missed items or a separate score-appeal procedure.
That limit concerns exam materials. A missing report, conflicting result record or delivery incident is a different support issue. Use the route below for those problems. A support request is not a promise that an answer will be disclosed or a score changed.

Separate the concern before contacting anyone. If a problem is happening during the exam, use the provided proctor or administrator channel promptly and follow the instructions. An online proctor can help with delivery, not with the content of an answer.

Keep a useful private incident record
A clear service complaint describes the event and the help needed. It does not reconstruct the exam. Save these non-content facts privately:
- Exam name, national or Illinois portion, delivery format, booked date, time and time zone.
- Test-center location or the remote session stage where the problem occurred.
- When the problem started, what you observed and what action you took.
- The proctor, administrator or support role you notified and any reference they supplied.
- Relevant appointment, approval, payment and official report records, when they concern the issue.
- The status you need clarified, such as whether the session was completed and what action is required next.
Record a technical error in words without photographing a live question screen. Keep original reports unchanged. Share personal or account details only through the official support process, and redact them from any public discussion.
What should you expect after reporting a problem?
Ask for a case reference if one is available, the recorded appointment status and the next action. If the issue remains unresolved, ask PSI which program-specific follow-up or escalation route applies. Keep the instructions you receive.
The cited Illinois booklet does not publish a separate post-exam question-appeal form, fee, deadline or automatic regrade. Do not borrow one from an appraiser handbook, another state or another PSI program. Reporting an incident does not itself establish a refund, free retake, restored eligibility, extra time or a changed score.
Check the cancellation and rescheduling rules and your eligibility before taking further booking action. Do not assume that a support case pauses an application or exam deadline. If you need help interpreting the report itself, use the score-report record checks.
How should you store the result?
- Download or print the Manage-tab report.
- Keep the original PSI email.
- Store a private backup separate from the primary device.

A passing report supports the licensing workflow. A failed report supports the retake workflow. Both deserve reliable recordkeeping.
