Eight-stage quality workflow
Follow each claim from student question to published page
A polished paragraph is not enough. The review has to test the source, scope, explanation, search presentation, technical delivery, and future update path.

The resource first
Direct answer: Every Pass Illinois exam-prep page should pass eight review stages: define the student's intent and blueprint fit; capture current primary sources and effective dates; build a claim table; draft the direct answer and topic-specific teaching structure; challenge facts, exceptions, math, and distractors; review SEO, AEO, and GEO presentation; validate accessibility, links, schema, and code; then publish with a facts-reviewed date and monitoring trigger. Material errors enter the public corrections workflow. This process can establish what was checked and when, but it cannot prove universal student satisfaction, human-only authorship, or a numerical quality score without independent evidence.

Stages 1 and 2: define the question and collect controlling sources
The editor first writes the student question in plain language and maps it to the current PSI outline, an Illinois licensing task, or a practical exam procedure. This prevents a page from drifting into adjacent law that sounds important but does not answer the search intent or help the candidate prepare.
The source pass then collects the most direct current authority. PSI controls exam administration and its published blueprint. ILGA provides statutes, JCAR provides administrative rules, IDFPR administers licensing, and the responsible federal agency supports federal topics. Publication, amendment, effective, and last-checked dates are recorded when they affect the answer.
- Name the learner, decision, jurisdiction, and exam connection.
- Prefer a primary source that directly supports the sentence.
- Capture effective dates and pending changes separately.
- Flag conflicts between official sources for explicit treatment.
Stages 3 and 4: build the fact record and teach the topic
Before prose expands, each material claim is reduced to a small fact record: the claim, controlling source, exact scope, important exception, volatility, and review date. Numbers receive their unit and denominator. A 75 percent state passing standard, for example, is not silently turned into a claim about the national portion.
The draft begins with a direct answer that can stand alone. The rest of the format follows the subject. Agency works as a relationship decision. Disclosure works as a duty sequence. Contract status works as a map. Math needs shown steps. A glossary definition needs the closest distinction, a concrete example, an exam trap, and a memory cue.
Stage 5: challenge the page as a skeptical test taker
The factual review asks who is acting, for whom, under which relationship, at what time, in what form, with which exception, and with what consequence. It also checks whether an Illinois-specific rule has been confused with a national exam default or whether a convenient study shortcut has been presented as law.
Practice questions receive an additional pass. The keyed answer must be the best answer under the stated facts, distractors must be plausible for a teachable reason, and the explanation must resolve the closest choice. Secure or recalled PSI content is not accepted as a source, prompt, or comparison set.
- Try the nearest exception against the direct answer.
- Recalculate every example from the original inputs.
- Check dates, thresholds, attempt limits, and portion names.
- Remove absolutes that the source does not support.
Stage 6: review search and answer presentation
The search review tests whether the title and description match the page, read naturally, and identify Illinois when jurisdiction matters. Headings should help a person scan the lesson. Internal links should move the student to a logical prerequisite, practice task, or next concept rather than repeat the same anchor across unrelated pages.
For answer engines and generative systems, the page names entities, dates, units, scope, and definitions explicitly. A short passage should remain accurate when extracted. Questions are retained when they help students, not to promise FAQ rich results. Keywords never receive permission to deform the sentence or multiply unsupported claims.
Stages 7 and 8: validate delivery, publish, and monitor
Technical validation covers type safety, lint rules, working routes, internal links, accessible controls, keyboard behavior, visible labels, metadata, sitemap inclusion, and structured data that matches the page. Downloadable resources are opened, rendered, and inspected rather than assumed to work because a file exists.
Publication adds the source list and facts-reviewed date. Volatile pages receive a trigger tied to a new PSI bulletin, statutory or rule amendment, IDFPR change, or scheduled review. A reported issue is checked against the current authority. If the earlier claim could alter understanding or action, the corrected page and public log identify what changed, when, and why.
What a completed review does and does not establish
A completed review means the listed process ran against the identified scope on the recorded date. It does not guarantee that no error remains, that a source will not change tomorrow, or that every student will learn equally well from the same format.
The process can support an internal quality judgment about accuracy, clarity, originality, usefulness, and presentation. A defensible 9.6 out of 10 student rating requires student research and outcome evidence. A claim that content is human-only or non-AI requires provenance evidence that cannot be recovered from textual style alone.
Quick questions
How often is a page reviewed?
The cadence depends on volatility. Exam procedures and licensing rules are rechecked when official sources change and on scheduled review; stable definitions are still reviewed when the connected source or syllabus changes.
What happens when official sources conflict?
The page should identify both sources and dates, use the authority most directly controlling the immediate claim, state the uncertainty, and avoid pretending the conflict does not exist.
Does every page use the same template?
No. Every page needs a direct answer and evidence, but the teaching format should fit the topic, such as a decision tree, map, worked example, worksheet, visualizer, or concise glossary lesson.
How are practice questions checked?
They are checked for original wording, a defensible keyed answer, plausible distractors, a clear deciding rule, accurate calculations, and separation from secure PSI content.
What makes a correction material?
A correction is material when the earlier statement could change a student's understanding, calculation, study choice, eligibility conclusion, deadline, or required action.
