Weight is the baseline, not the final prescription
If all topics were equally strong, study time could follow the published percentages. Real learners are not equally strong. A low-confidence smaller topic can deserve more immediate attention than a high-confidence larger topic, especially after repeated misses on unseen questions.
The tool multiplies official weight by a simple confidence factor, then normalizes the result to your total hours. Low confidence receives more time, high confidence receives less, and no topic disappears. Adjust the confidence after retrieval practice, not after rereading notes.
Read question counts as blueprint estimates
On the national portion, each percentage maps directly to the same approximate number of scored questions because there are 100 scored items. On the Illinois portion, the official broker table yields 16 License Act, 10 additional-laws, 10 disclosure, and 4 licensing-requirement questions.
PSI can add 5 to 10 unscored experimental questions to an examination. Those items still use time but do not change the scored blueprint or passing standard. A candidate cannot identify experimental questions, so every item deserves the same disciplined process.

- Reserve mixed sessions for switching between national and Illinois rules.

Keep national and Illinois performance separate
The broker examination has separate national and Illinois portions, with separate passing standards. A strong national score does not cancel a weak state score. Use the toggle to create a budget for each portion rather than averaging them into one comforting number.
The current passing standards are 70 percent for the national broker portion and 75 percent for the Illinois portion. Study allocation does not guarantee either result, so finish with timed, mixed, unseen questions and targeted correction.
